Afghan President Hamid Karzai says he'll step up the fight against terrorism and continue with efforts to make peace with the Taliban.
He spoke on Friday at a state funeral for former Afghan President Burhanuddin Rabbani, who was killed by a suicide bomber on Tuesday. The funeral was held in Kabul under heavy security. More than 1,000 people attended.
Karzai condemned the killing of Rabbani and said the government has a responsibility to act against enemies of peace. He said he'll respect Rabbani's wishes by continuing with efforts to make peace with the Taliban.
The Taliban have not claimed responsibility for the killing of Rabbani, but Afghan police suspect the killer was a Taliban militant.
